Founded by Drew Conway, NYC-based Alluvium leverages machine learning and AI, to help industrial companies achieve operational stability and improve their production. Alluvium uses machine learning to help companies distill complex, massive streams of raw sensor and production data into usable insights.
I was hired in 2015 to establish the visual brand identity for the new company.
A dynamic graphic motif was created to emphasize the evolving nature of Alluvium’s products (“always listening and learning”) based on Conway’s Game of Life, a cellular automation simulation in which a grid of cells interact with their neighboring cells from an initial seed pattern. In this case, the lifespan of each cell goes from light to dark.
Alternate structures for the design motif based on Conway’s Game of Life (other uniform tilings with Archimedean Lattices) can be used instead of a triangular-based grid.
